The Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is providing an update on repairs and renovations to provincially owned vacant units that were highlighted as needing work last October.
As of January 12, work is complete on 81 of the 143 units across the province. Repairs and renovations are underway on another 48 projects.
NLHC says work on all of the 12 vacant units in the western region have been completed.
In the eastern region, work is complete on 52 of the 85 vacancies. Work is in progress on 29 units, while four more units have yet to be assigned.
In central 11 of 15 units are now complete with work continuing on the remaining four.
In Labrador there are 31 vacancies in total. Work on six is complete, while repairs on 15 more are underway. Ten units have yet to be assigned.
