Environment Canada has some warnings out for parts of Labrador as the entire province prepares for a cold snap.
Temperatures will plummet first in Labrador West with wind chills of minus 45 expected beginning overnight tonight and going into Tuesday.
Meteorologist David Neal says the metro region will also feel the effects with temperatures dropping to minus 17 tomorrow night.
The spread across the province will be gradual from west to east.
Neal says it will not be a long-lasting weather hit.
We had a cold outbreak last winter but this is the first province-wide one this winter.
NL Hydro Making Preparations

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says it is continuing to monitor the current forecast and the electrical system
Peak demand of 1680 M/W is expected Wednesday morning.
NL Hydro says it has more than 500 M/W of reserve power at that level of demand, and they don’t anticipate any alerts at that time.
If that should change, NL Hydro has a communication protocol in place to keep people informed of any potential impact on their ability to meet demand.
