The NL Alliance for the Control of Tobacco is encouraging Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to go smoke-free during this National Non-Smoking Week.
About 20 per cent of people in this province smoke according to the alliance, which is an improvement over the 60s and 70s, but it’s still a concern.
Equally concerning, if not more so, is vaping—particularly among young people.
ACT Executive Director Kevin Coady says our young people have gone a little crazy with the vaping so his organization has produced a new resource which he hopes will end up in our schools.
The package of resources will be launched tomorrow for educators and caregivers. It will be launched on Weedless Wednesday.
