Several people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the Outer Ring Road.

The westbound lane from Allandale Road to the Team Gushue Highway was shut down for a few hours, and the eastbound lane had been reduced to one lane. The highway is now clear of backlog so drivers can again use it with trip times back to regular.

Three people have been pulled over for operating their cell phones at an accident scene.

Police say people were slowing down and trying to take pictures and videos of the scene. They remind the public that this is not only dangerous, but against the law.

There’s no further information about the nature of the accident, or extent of injuries at this time.
