RCMP are looking for a stolen vehicle as the driver floored it on the TCH Sunday afternoon after officers flashed the lights.

The person who was driving is suspected of stealing a number of tools from the Canadian Tire store in Port aux Basques that same day. The man, who was wearing a yellow raincoat, left in a red Kia Forte which had been stolen from Corner Brook.

RCMP confronted him in the stolen vehicle near Crabbe’s River travelling at a high rate of speed. They did not pursue in the interest of public safety.

The 2016 Kia has licence plate JDT 231. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
