St. John’s native Alex Newhook laced up his skates to practice with the Montreal Canadiens yesterday for the first time since his ankle injury last November.
That’s according to an update from the Habs’ Thursday morning skate, which was posted to NHL.com ahead of their game against the New York Islanders.
Newhook suffered a high ankle sprain on November 30 against the Florida Panthers.
He was expected to miss between 10 and 12 weeks of action, meaning he could return to the lineup as early as mid-February.
