Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel is back on the campaign trail, but has some competition for the job as mayor of Dildo.

The town gained a lot of popularity from Kimmel in 2019, after he ran for honourary mayor in a running gag that played out on the show for a couple of weeks.

Earlier this week, Kimmel informed audiences that someone by the name of Todd Cole was eyeing the title. The host didn’t take that lightly.

Kimmel addressed the people of Dildo, saying he’s done a lot of great things since becoming honourary mayor five years ago. But he’s issued a warning to his potential rival Todd, making it clear he is not the right candidate in an attack ad styled skit.

Cole, who lives in Ontario, visited Dildo last October and shared a photo posing with Kimmel’s campaign sign, teasing that he might make a run for mayor. He got a good laugh at the talk show host’s factitious attack ad, but isn’t going down without a fight.

Cole says he’s been brainstorming ideas for a rebuttal video to prove himself as the better candidate. “At least I’ve been there,” says Cole. “I don’t think he (Kimmel) has been there.”
