The NL Folk Arts Society is hinting at more big news ahead of the 48th annual Folk Festival this summer.

Multi Grammy award-winning folk-country icon Emmylou Harris was announced as the festival’s headliner on Thursday, but there’s still more acts to come.

NL Folk Arts Society Artistic Director, Mary Beth Waldram, hinted that another big act could be announced very soon.

“The big cat is out of the bag but there is another incredibly large headliner also coming that’s actually going to be direct support for Emmylou Harris,” says Waldram.

She wouldn’t give any further hints, but says the name will be revealed when early bird tickets go on sale February 15. The full line-up will be released on April 10.

The Folk Fest hits Bannerman Park from July 12 to July 14.
