The spread of respiratory illness has resulted in new temporary masking requirements in all health care settings in the province.

Starting this Monday, masks will be required in all hospitals and health care facilities including personal care and long-term care homes.

The temporary measure is being put in place due to an increase in respiratory illness in the community.

The masking guidelines will be re-evaluated on March 31.

Visitors and those supporting patients are reminded that self-screening for COVID and other respiratory illness remains in effect and anyone experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms is asked to stay home.
