A music teacher from this province is honoured to be nominated for the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award.
The JUNO Award celebrates musical education teachers and their dedication to teaching the next generation.
This year, Sarah Comerford of MacDonald Drive Junior High in St. John’s has been nominated. Comerford is the instrumental music teacher at the school and has taught for 20 years.
She calls the nomination “pretty cool”.
“It’s cool to be recognized. As teachers, this is what we do. We put a lot of work into our jobs and work really hard at it. I’m always pretty passionate about what I do and musical education in the province.”
We recognize that dedication of these educators using the power of music to feel the passion of students and build meaningful relationships in their communities.
