Plans are underway to develop a new microbrewery and tap room in the Lumsden area.

Wrecking Harbour Hospitalities is proposing to construct and operate a microbrewery, taproom and four luxury cottages as well as a space for larger events in Lumsden.

The proposal is now before the Department of Environment for Environmental Assessment.

The proponent is using a phased-in approach to the development with the cottages available in the first phase, followed by the events space and then the microbrewery.

The deadline for public comment is March 15.
