Memorial University has partnered with the Association for New Canadians to allow members of the Newcomer Entrepreneurship Training Program to attend professional development courses at the Gardiner Centre.
The partnership allows participants to attend free of charge.
According to MUN, 16 people from Ukraine, Mexico, Iran and Afghanistan have earned 32 certificates through the program so far.
Lesya Danchyshyn, a Psychologist in her native Ukraine, has participated in the program.
She hopes to open her own psychology practice in the province some day, and she believes the courses are helping to build her skills.
