The RCMP in this province is warning of a scam making the rounds involving a person trying to pass themselves off as a police officer via email.

They say the scammers are claiming to have a subpoena for the person they are contacting. Recently, a victim filed a report with them, indicating that the email was received from addressing ending in @rcmp-grc.gc.outlook.com

The RCMP says they do not issue subpoenas via email, nor do they have an outlook.com email address.

They say similar emails, or any email that a person thinks may be a scam, should not be opened and should be reported.
