The Body Shop Canada is closing 33 of its 105 stores across the country including one in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The brand will discontinue its online sales platform as well, initiating a restructuring process under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
Among the locations slated for shutdown is the store in the Corner Brook Plaza, whereas the one in the Avalon Mall is expected to remain open.
Several stores in the Maritimes are closing as well.
Details regarding the exact number of employees affected by the changes remain unclear.
Meanwhile, The Body Shop’s operations in the United States have been discontinued.
