The passing of Canada’s 18th Prime Minister will likely be front and centre in the Legislature today before our politicians begin gnashing at each other.

This is what’s known as the “budget” sitting of the House. Government’s financial blueprint will come down this month but it will take close to three months to pass, meaning the use of interim supply.
Premier Andrew Furey says the issues are clear.
“Health and cost of living are still top of mind,” says Furey. He says things such as improving access to primary care and integrating ambulance services will be on the docket, but the big focus will be the upcoming budget.
The PC’s and NDP have similar concerns about health, education, housing and cost of living—among other things.
NDP Leader Jim Dinn has been barred from opening his mouth after calling the previous housing minister, Paul Pike, a liar. It’s unclear if he will retract his comments.
The new housing minister, Fred Hutton, will be in the Legislature as a sitting member for the first time today.
