MUNSU is calling the provincial budget brought down on Thursday “extremely disappointing” for students.
Memorial University Students’ Union spokesperson John Harris says there’s nothing in the budget document for young people pursuing a post-secondary education.
“All we’re seeing is an almost $14 million cut on its way to eliminate the tuition offset grants which made tuition at MUN somewhat affordable for 20 years.”
He says “A lot of people had an opportunity to study here that they would never have otherwise gotten, had it not been for the tuition freeze.”
