The site for a new regional health centre to service Deer Lake and surrounding area will be located on a piece of land between the Trans Canada and the Humber River.
Government has been moving forward with the development of a number of so-called family care teams across the island, and Deer Lake’s is one of the latest.
The new facility will include offices and clinic space for family physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
The department expects to award a contract for construction in the coming weeks, with the new facility set to open in 2025.
