The site of the old Grace hospital and nursing residence is being considered as the possible location for an announced downtown clinic in the capital city.
The last standing remnants of the old Grace hospital nursing residence finally came toppling down last week, and the clean up is now underway.
The provincial budget outlined a number of planned infrastructure projects including a medical clinic in the downtown area.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister John Abbott says he’s glad to see the eyesore gone, and the land represents an important piece of real estate.
While he says they’re still in the very early stages of planning, they’re considering a number of possible developments.
Among them is a downtown clinic, and the ever present need for housing. “We’ll make some decisions probably in the next year, once, literally, the dust settles on that piece of property.”
