If you’re in search of a delicious treat for a noble cause this Good Friday, the Newfoundland Embassy in downtown St. John’s is the place to be.
“Cones for a Cause,” a fundraising event in aid of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, is making its return this afternoon.
Fifty cents from each sale of the renowned Lar’s Custard Cone will contribute to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Monetary donations are also welcome.
Niall Hickey, the Owner and Operator of the Newfoundland Embassy, says that the previous Cones for a Cause event had an impressive turnout, and they are thrilled to participate once more.
He says that cancer affects many, and it’s crucial to support the community.
Hickey says if you support the community, they support you, something that’s been a driving factor in their success so far.
Cones for a Cause kicks off at noon at the Newfoundland Embassy, and Hickey encourages everyone to come by.
He notes that they will be welcoming donations throughout the day, from noon until 9:00 p.m.
