Last minute shopping will be in full force today ahead of the Easter holiday.
Owner and CEO of the Newfoundland Chocolate Company, Christina Dove, says this is one of their busiest occasions, with chocolate bunnies and eggs flying off the shelves.
“The demand is high, I think everyone is going cracked trying to buy their bunnies and eggs for Easter.”
According to Dove, the top sellers this year are personalized chocolate eggs with names printed on them, and a line of chocolate bunnies with a nod to a popular Newfoundland-based group.
The group of bunnies, complete with musical instruments, are known as the Wabbity Grand Band, in reference to the Wonderful Grand Band. Dove says they always try to personalize their products to reflect Newfoundland and Labrador’s culture and never seem to run out of material.
