Heavy rainfall has lead to a number of road washouts on the west coast.
Photos shared online show major road washouts, particularly on the Port au Port Peninsula and in the Corner Brook area.
Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says after getting over 100 mm of rain, the community fared pretty well.
O’Connell Drive has reopened, but Riverside Drive is still closed as water continues to flow in the area. Some repairs will be required there.
Parsons says there is a lot of debris around as storm sewer systems were overwhelmed. He says there has been some flooding in the community as well as some pot holes forming.
He says a lot of resident have called the city to report flooding such as water in basements and yards, and driveways have been washed out.
