Former Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote is recovering from a stroke.
Foote took to social media to share the news of her stroke. She celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on February 23, the following morning she had a stroke, which she says came as quite the shock.
Foote says she is undergoing rehabilitation as an outpatient at the Miller Centre to regain strength in her core and left leg, which is impacting her ability to walk.
She says as a Patron of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, she always thought she was at low risk of having a stroke.
Foote saw this as an opportunity to raise awareness. She says no one is immune to having a stroke, even young people.
