Starting today and running through to November 30, all garbage put out at the curb in the City of St. John’s must be fully covered.
Most areas of the city use garbage bins for automated garbage collection, but some areas don’t have bins, and the garbage is placed on the curb in bags.
The city says all garbage must be covered by a bin, net or container with a closed lid to prevent litter from being blown around or torn up by birds or animals.
