Riverside Drive in Corner Brook remains impassable after a dramatic landside on Monday night that plunged one moving vehicle into the water and slammed into another.
Police rescued two people from a pickup truck that was swept up in the wreckage. There were no serious injuries.
Crews with the City of Corner Brook are now keeping an eye on the stability of the slope, and will wait until the ground dries out before moving heavy equipment in.
The City says the landslide did not occur in the same spot where washouts had been an issue a few days prior as it was at a much higher elevation.
Residents are asked to avoid the area and nearby Confederation Drive Extension until proper repairs are completed within the coming weeks.
