Five people will receive honorary degrees during Memorial University’s convocation ceremonies this spring.
The recognition will be bestowed upon architect Harriet Burdett-Moulton, entrepreneur Boyd Cohen, artist and activist Marlene Creates, visual artist Jerry Evans, and journalist Pauline Thornhill.
As well, Ian Warkentin, a retired professor with the School of Science and the Environment at Grenfell Campus, who was recently given the title of emeritus, will be recognized during the spring convocation.
Almost 3,000 degrees will be conferred during ceremonies at the Arts and Culture Centres in Corner Brook and St. John’s at the end of May.
