A man who tried to make his way into a business in downtown St. John’s overnight found himself in the lock-up instead.

RNC were tipped off of a break and enter at the retailer around 1:30 Sunday morning.

Officers spoke with witnesses and charged the 43-year-old male suspect with property damage and breach of probation.

He was held for court.
