The Nunatsiavut Government is starting a series of engagement activities as part of the Nunatsiavut Land, Development and Housing Strategy.
Nunatsiavut developed the strategy in collaboration with Inuit Community Governments. The aim of the project is to plan land and housing development in Nunatsiavut communities for the next 20 years.
The strategy will create sustainable and culturally-sensitive development plans that work for all Labrador Inuit communities.
The first series of engagement opportunities has begun, which includes online an online survey.
In-person engagement will be hosted over a two-week period from today until April 18. Activities will be organized in Rigolet, Makkovik, Postville, Hopedale and Nain.
Activities include elder and youth engagement sessions, information booths, council member meetings, and community engagement sessions.
