The Avalon Peninsula got about 7 cm overnight and will get another 2 or 3 cm by the time it moves off.

Tiffany Cheeks, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office, says the system didn’t follow the path they had expected.

She says the snow will move off by lunchtime.
