A telecom provider is experiencing issues with its system in parts of Newfoundland today.
Customers of Bell Aliant in the metro region are having issues with phone service. The company says it’s because of vandalism to their infrastructure in Mount Pearl. That’s the same building which was damaged by a person who broke into it this morning.
The telephone lines are also down in parts of Conception Bay North and other parts of the Avalon as well as off the Avalon.
9-1-1 service in some areas may also be affected. Government says if you can’t get through, try 9-1-1 on another phone or use an alternate service provider.
Bell says it is making headway in restoring service.
Some customers Mount Pearl, Newfoundland may be experiencing a service interruption due to vandalism on our infrastructures. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
