A private executive search firm will again be hired to help find MUN’s next president, and that’s not sitting well with the university’s faculty association.
The presidential search committee announced last week that a private firm will be used for the process.
MUNFA president Josh Lepawsky says it’s concerning that the university is once again taking such a route, insisting no private firm should be making decisions about which candidates make it into the pool being considered.
Lepawsky says the search should be as open and public as possible.
To that end, MUNFA has written the committee asking that the role of such a firm be limited to collecting information needed to assess potential candidates.
The faculty union also wants the names and resumes of all shortlisted candidates made public, and for those candidates to meet with, and take questions from, the various stakeholder groups at MUN.
