Opposition Leader Tony Wakeham is looking for a breakdown of the numbers after learning through Estimates that the total accumulated debt of the province has doubled since 2016.
Wakeham acknowledges, a lot has happened over that time span, including the pandemic, so he’s looking for an exact breakdown to see how and where the money is being spent.
The debt says Wakeham is almost $30 billion, double the $15 billion in 2016. “There’s only a small portion of that that can be attributed to the Muskrat Falls project.”
