The provincial government says the GED (High School Equivalency) in Canada is coming to an end in May and will be replaced with a new assessment called the Canadian Adult Education Credential.
The Department of Education anticipates that the new program will begin in the province in June.
They say the last paper-based GED occurred on April 13 and 14 in St. John’s.
Computer-based administration of the GED at Thrive will continue until May 3.
The department says it will announce more information on registering for the new CAEC program in the coming weeks.
