The East Coast Music Awards are returning to Newfoundland and Labrador next year.
Current ECMA nominees KitchinParti played the soundtrack at O’Reilly’s Irish Newfoundland Pub on George Street as Minister Steve Crocker made the announcement.
The provincial government is putting $300,000 toward the event, and the capital city is ponying up $200,000.
The province says the awards will attract industry professionals from around the world, and notes that the 2025 Export Buyers Program expects over 120 Canadian and International talent buyers will come to the province.
The awards and associated events will take place from May 7 to May 11 next year.
The 2024 awards are happening this week in PEI.
