Earnings are up at the parent company of Newfoundland Power.
Fortis Inc. delivered its first quarter results today as net earnings climbed to $459 million from $437 million in Q1 last year. Earnings per share went from 90 cents to 93 cents.
The St. John’s-based company says transitioning to a cleaner energy future and is on track to achieve its corporate-wide targets to reduce direct greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 and 75 per cent by 2035 from a 2019 base year.
