A 22-year-old Mount Pearl man has been arrested and charged with drug and weapons offences.
Brandon Chafe was arrested on Thursday evening following a traffic stop on Heavy Tree Road in Mount Pearl.
A man and woman were taken into custody. Two loaded Glock handguns—a 9 mm and 0.45 caliber—were seized along with one ounce of suspected cocaine and $6,115 in cash.
Chafe is now facing two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breach of a release order among other weapons-related offences.
Chafe was previously charged in connection with a shooting in the Goulds in 2022, but the charges were thrown out due to the Jordan Ruling which determines a specific timeline for matters to be dealt with in the courts.
The woman was released from custody pending further investigation.
