It appears as if a labour dispute at an airline which serves Newfoundland and Labrador has been averted.
WestJet’s unionized mechanics were served with notice of a lockout on the weekend but a tentative deal has since been reached.
WestJet issued a 72-hour lockout notice to the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association on Saturday, meaning a work stoppage was possible as early as noon on Tuesday.
No details of the tentative deal have been released.
