The City’s Mews Centre is open again after more downtime this week due to mechanical issues.
The pool, sauna and steam room all reopened as of 5 p.m. yesterday.
They were also out of commission for almost two weeks in March for the same reason.
A new Mews Centre is being built on the other side of Mundy Pond, but it has been subject to repeated delays.
It was scheduled to open last fall, then this spring, then this summer, but the opening date is still unknown.
Councillor Jamie Korab told yesterday’s public meeting the new one can’t come soon enough.
“This is becoming all too common with that old facility,” he said. “I’ve had some people ask in the last few months or weeks when the new facility will open. We don’t have an exact timeline on that yet. We should know more in the coming weeks and months when that’ll be done.
“But we’re hoping by the end of summer the full completion date will be done, and from there their summer programming wraps up, our staff can get in and get the final polishing done and get that facility open.”
