The City of Mount Pearl recognized some of its best and brightest Thursday night during its 34th annual Focus on Youth Awards.

Among those recognized this year were the Mount Pearl senior boys basketball team as Sports Team of the Year.

Athletes of the Year went to Chris Weeks and Jirah Hiscock, while the Visual Arts Award went to Quinn O’Dea. Hannah Smith was recognized with the Literary Arts Award.

Performing Arts Recognition went to O’Donel High School’s Shrek the Musical.

Youth Group of the Year – 807 Mount Pearl Kinsmen Air Cadets

Youth Opportunity Fund Youth Volunteer of the Year – Alex Taylor

John Rossiter Memorial Youth of the Year – Eamon Fogwill and Courtney Abbott
