Advocates and allies across Canada have been speaking up for the past few days seeking equality for the 2SLBGTQIA+ community.
Today is the final day of the Rainbow Week of Action, and will be marked with an event at St. John’s City Hall.
Jesssica McCormick, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour, says everyone has the right to be safe in the workplace and to have access to the health care they need.
She says it’s important for labour to be involved in the movement for a free, equal and socially-just society.
Today’s event will include a letter-writing exercise at City Hall’s Foran Room.
It takes place from 5–6:30 p.m. and includes writing materials, free pizza and refreshments.
