A group of passionate Blue Jays fans from this province stole the spotlight at the ballpark this past weekend for their unique tribute to one of Toronto’s sluggers.
Sixteen fans from this province spent the weekend taking in the Jays series against the Tampa Bay Rays as part of a stag party, but it was how they were dressed that caught the attention fans and even Blue Jays broadcasters.
Photos circulating online and during television broadcasts show all guys donning the jersey of Blue Jays rookie Davis ‘Babe’ Schneider, complete with his signature mustache and glasses.
The camera was quick to pan on the group after Schneider drilled a double to right field during Saturday’s game. The crew also got a shoutout from pregame host Jamie Campbell prior to Sunday’s series finale.
