The unique transfer of patients from the old Western Memorial Regional Hospital to the new one takes place Sunday in Corner Brook.
A designated route will be followed, in co-ordination with the city, involving Brookfield Avenue, West Valley Road, O’Connell Drive, University Avenue, Corporal Pinsent Memorial Drive and the Lewin Parkway.
The transfer will take place throughout the day, with the public asked to avoid using those routes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
It’s not clear how many patients will have to be moved.
Meanwhile, those who may need health and emergency services are being asked to proceed to the new hospital as of 6 a.m. on Sunday.
