A 34-year-old St. John’s man is facing an animal cruelty charge after police were called out to a home on Saturday.

RNC were tipped off about a possible animal cruelty situation at a home in the centre city around 2:30 p.m.

Officers found evidence to charge the man for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.
