Police have released more information on an incident Friday that sent a 17-year-old girl to hospital with stab wounds.
The teen was assaulted in the area of the Tim Hortons on Portugal Cove Road around 7 p.m. Friday evening.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says the girl’s injuries were serious.
Responding officers found a young girl on the scene and required medical support. She’s in hospital in stable condition.
The 17-year old suspect was arrested on Kenmount Road a short time later and he was charged with aggravated assault.
The attack is not believed to be random and the two teens knew each other.
