Harbour Grace RCMP arrested a 22-year-old woman from Victoria after the car she was driving smashed into a light pole.

The incident happened around 5:30 Saturday morning.

The woman showed signs of impairment according to police and open cannabis and drug paraphernalia were seen inside the vehicle.

She was arrested and taken to Carbonear General for treatment of injuries suffered in the collision.

Police are awaiting the results of blood samples taken to determine if impaired driving charges are warranted.

Meanwhile, police were called to reports of an incident outside a business on Water Street in Harbour Grace around 3:00 Sunday morning.

Police say a man on an ATV was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. The 26-year-old man was released to appear in court at a later date.
