The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association has unveiled a new campaign to help support athletes as they prepare for the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
The aim of the Kick It Up campaign is to raise funds to support the soccer player development program.
The goal is to create opportunities for both current and future players, and create momentum for the future of sport by utilizing things such as equipment, training opportunities, travel and knowledge.
The coach of the boys’ team, Mark Marshall, says part of the program will involve community engagement through the McSheffrey Resource Centre in St. John’s, where athletes will volunteer their time with mentorship and skill sharing and a “game changer,” noting that they want to give players “every opportunity to develop.”
The first fundraiser has already been launched—it’s a trip for two to the Paris Olympics this July.
