Metro police were very busy yesterday catching up with drivers who have little regard for acquiring the credentials required to legally be on the road.
The RNC pulled over a vehicle on Canada Drive around mid-afternoon and tagged the 32-year-old man who was behind the wheel for driving without insurance and registration. This is on top of the $10,000 he already owes in fines.
A 50-year-old woman, who was on a Canada-wide driving ban, was stopped on Torbay Road in St. John’s just after midnight. She was taken to the lockup to face numerous charges, including driving while prohibited and breaching probation.
Officers confronted three other drivers on Legion Road in Kelligrews, Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s and Torbay Road under similar circumstances.
