Energy NL’s annual conference and exhibition kicks off in St. John’s today but not without a protest.
Protesters from Bay St. George greeted the conference this morning with signs opposing the construction of windmills on the Port au Port Peninsula, and condemning what they see as inadequate consultation with the public.
Nadine Tallack is with a watchdog committee in Bay St. George. She is urging government to take another look at the project.
World Energy GH2, which is speaking at the conference today, is proposing hundreds of windmills in the area.
