A 71-year-old man was located after getting lost in thick fog in the Soldier’s Pond area overnight Monday.

RCMP received a call shortly before 5:00 yesterday morning indicating that the man, who had been staying at a nearby cabin, left the earlier in the night and had not returned.

RCMP Police Service Dog Kaos and his handler, Sergeant Jason Butler were sent out to search for the man, who it turns out, had become stuck in a bog.

The man had become disoriented in the dark and heavy fog, and was cold and unable to walk out on his own.

He was taken to hospital where he was assessed for minor injuries.
