Minimal damage reported as the result of a fire at a vacant building that once housed CHVO on Saddle Hill in Carbonear.
Carbonear Fire Chief Adam Earle says a passer-by noticed smoke coming from the eaves of the building around 6:40 last night.
The Harbour Grace Fire Brigade was also called in to assist because there is no water source in the area.
Earle says the fire was found in a back room of the building and was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
