RCMP are investigating a fire in the abandoned building that once housed CHVO in Carbonear as a case of arson.
The fire was noticed by a passer-by around 6:30 on the evening of Tuesday, June 4 and the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department and Harbour Grace Fire Brigade made quick work of the blaze.
There was minimal damage to the empty building, which was under renovation and was stripped to the studs.
Police say there were signs that someone forced their way into the building and that the fire was intentionally set.
Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the building at that time is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
